The Irdroino IrDA shield will allow you to interface with IrDA compliant equipment such as Medical Instruments, Power Meters, PDAs , data acquisition devices and other devices that communicate via IrDA SIR.

The Irdroino IrDA shield comes pre-configured for 9600 bps serial IrDA communication. The baud rate can be configured by using the on board switch (which switches the IrDA controller in command mode) and sending a hex commands representing the other baud rates for the MCP2120 serial IrDA controller.

*  The range depends on the other irDA communication device capabilities, but in general it is about 2 meters
