The Irdroid USB IrDA Transceiver adapter allows you to interface IrDA compliant equipment such as Medical Instruments (Works with ZOLL AED PRO and ZOLL AED Plus), Power Meters, PDAs , data acquisition devices and other devices that communicate via IrDA SIR.. The Irdroid USB IrDA Transceiver adapter enumerates on the host system as a serial port thus allowing you to easily interface with any control / terminal software with minimal or no programming needed. The Irdroid USB irDA adapter supports Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, MAC OS X, Linux and Android

The Irdroid USB IrDA transceiver comes factory pre-configured for 9600 baud rate serial communication. The baud rate can be changed by using the on-board switch (or via solder jumpers) and sending specific HEX commands toward the onboard mcp2120 for changing the baud rate setting.

 

Changing the Baud rate:

The unit allows you to change the irDA SIR baud rate by sending a specific control command when the module is in command mode (by using the on board switch.) Please refer to MCP2120 datasheet for more information on switching the serial baud rates.

*  The range depends on the other irDA communication device capabilities, but in general it is about 2 meters
